My feelings on High School, Part I

            In this section you will find my thoughts and Opinions on different aspects of High School.

            First off, cliques.  Cliques play a big role in everybody’s life in high school.  Whether you’re a Jock hanging out with your other varsity sports players, an emo/punk kid trying to show what a rebel you are through your sisters clothes or your “attitude” that just screams maturity, or the Future Farmers of America (I’m sorry but FFA doesn’t stand for leadership, there not being any F’s in leadership), or even other people who just hang out with their own little group of friends.  I know from personal experience that having a clique is important.  If you do not acquire one then you might be wandering around surfing the other cliques to try and fit in.  FITTING IN, now that is one important thing in high school.  If you do not fit in you are destined to be spending many weekend days at your own house by yourself with your MOTHER.  By fitting into your clique it assures you at least three weekends a month of possible activities that you could be doing with the other members.  Also, if by the end of your sophomore year you are still unable to fit in, the best idea is to switch schools and pursue the “new kid” identity and then try to find a clique again.

            Friendships, although a clique may seem as a bunch of friends it is not always so.  Just because you hang out with the same people as another person does not necessarily make you friends.  In my opinion, if two people are to be friends there must be a willingness from both people to have this relationship.  If only one of the two is attempting to sustain a friendship it will inevitably fall apart.  It takes hard work and caring for people to stay friends.  If you don’t care what happens to the other person then you obviously don’t consider them a friend.  There needs to be communication between the two so that they keep up on how each other is doing.  I have had a good many friends where either I or they just stopped the communication and our friendship was ended because of that.  How do you expect to have a friendship with someone who you don’t talk to?  It makes me so angry when people contest that we are still friends after not talking.  If you disagree with me then what the heck do you consider a friendship?  Although your friends have influence over you, you must maintain your self image.  Do not let other people determine who you are.  Do not attempt to follow the crowd or do other things that you think will make people like you, such as (smoking, drinking, or even dating).  I put dating here because if you are dating for the sole purpose that your friends are dating so to fit in you must also, you are what some people call “MENTALLY RETARDED”.  Next up, dating/women.  Now don’t get me wrong, I have no problems with girls in general (my mom rocks).  But for the most part I have found high school girls to be nothing but trouble.  At LMH and other places I have found that to be friends with the popular girls you must be a very good looking person, this is of course obvious but nevertheless must be stated.  Girls have this great thing to them that I have found out.  Every time that I have pursued a relationship it has ended with the words “lets just be friends”.  I am sure that some of you have no idea what I’m talking about because you are lucky enough to be pretty good looking, or lucky, either way it does not matter.  After saying this famous line the girl/woman will continue to talk to you for a little while.  Eventually though they begin to talk less and less to you and then pretty much just punch you or smile when they see you in the hall (this is true not only for girls but also for friends in general).  They will stop inviting you to hang out, and they will make no attempt to talk to you anymore than what they have been recently.  Girls especially I have noticed like to play it like nothings changed.  It seems as if your friendship never existed.  This can be freaking hard on the guy who has first been rejected as anything more than a friend, and then even rejected as that. I have been saying it this whole time and I will say it again “RELATIONSHIPS NEED TIME”, if you are unwilling to give a so called friend any of your time, how do you expect to keep them. 

            Last but certainly not least, is God.  I encourage you that if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior that you do it.  God and some other close personal friends including my youth pastor have been the only people at times to keep me from getting too deep into depression.  To put it simply, GOD FREAKIN ROCKS!  Even though it is a tough thing to stand up for God in school, I really do want to try my best to be the best Christian I can.  I more than anyone else realize the failures I have had, but I will never stop trying to do what the bible commands of all of us.  I encourage anyone who reads this with sincerity to figure out things for their own life.  These are just my experiences thus far in life.  I look forward to any responses you have for me.

Wow its been a little bizzle since I've updated.  This year is coming to a close and I'm getting ready for it.  I can NOT wait untill senior year (when i will be hot) hopefully and some of the drama from freakin banquet will die down.
